Rigorous peer review
All research articles and case studies are thoroughly peer reviewed by external reviewers, informed by COPE guidelines for best practice. Contributions other than research (e.g. commentaries) receive in-depth editorial review and subsequent revisions as necessary. Declarations of competing interests are requested. See the peer review policy for further detail.
Scholarly society publishing
Following the COPE Guidelines for the Board of Directors of Learned Society Journals, the relationship of editors to the society is based firmly on the principle of editorial independence, so that editors may make decisions on which articles to publish based on quality and suitability for readers. Membership of the society is not required to publish in the journal or to become a member of the editorial team. All members of the editorial team are asked to declare conflicts of interest of any kind in line with the competing interests policy.
